Baby Guinea Pig
A baby guinea pig may be sold with other babies; breeders often give discount deals.
After a gestation period of nine weeks, a sow gives birth to usually 2 babies. They are born relatively mature: large, fully furred and with open eyes. They are able to walk from the moment they were born. They also have teeth and begin to eat solid food and drink water from a container when only 2 or 3 days old. They should be allowed to nurse their mother for 2-3 weeks. The young become sexually mature at about 60 or 70 days. Males left with the females in captivity will display aggression toward juveniles and that's why it is necessary to separate the young from their parents. With proper care, these animals can live up to 6 years.

Baby Guinea Pig -
babies, breeders
There exist two main categories of the aninals: Selfs (one-color short hairs,) and Non-selves, which are very numerous (Abyssinian, Abyssinian Satin, Agouti, American, American Satin, Coronet, Dutch, Himalayan, Long Hairs, Peruvian, Peruvian Satin, Silkie, Silkie Satin, Taddy, Teddy Satin, Texel, White Crested, etc.) Keeping these animals has many advantages when compared to other pets. They don't need to go out daily and they can be left alone for the whole day unlike dogs. They eat little and can be handled easily, unlike rabbits.
