Breed Guinea Picture Pig

They were known for a long time and were a precious animal of the Incas. In the wild, they have a lot of predators and have to live in the herds to provide for a better security. The average litter size is 2-5 babies. The young are born rather large and fully furred, and can walk about; they also have teeth and open eyes at this time. The young can even eat solid food and drink water from a container just from birth. However, they should be allowed to nurse their mother for at least 2 weeks. The babies can nurse not only from the mothers, but also from other lactating females.

These are hystricomorph rodents that originated from the Andes Mountains region of South America. It is considered that they were first domesticated by the Indians of Peru, who used them for food and as sacrificial offerings to their gods. In the 16th century these animals were introduced to Europe. These are one of the most amusing and popular companions, as they are not difficult to care for. What is good about them is that they do not need extra room and have no special feeding requirements; they are also easy to train. Maintenance is not expensive.
