When keeping these small rodents, do not forget to provide them with care such as bathing and grooming. Bathe them twice a year in warm water with a shampoo that is sold at pet stores, do not use soaps or shampoos designed for people. Bathing your cavy, line a sink with a towel or rag and bathe the animal in a sink half full of lukewarm water. After bathing, rinse the animal thoroughly and dry with a towel. You can also use a hair dryer set to a warm setting.
