About Guinea Pigs -
picture, bird
These animals are mammals. They belong to the rodent family. They are more like mice, rats, beavers, porcupines or hamsters. Their large incisor teeth are continually growing and necessitating gnawing to prevent them from overgrowing. The average life span is 4-7 years. These animals form the Family Caviidae. There are eight known species of these rodents, but only one is usually kept as a pet. These small creatures are native to South America. In the wild they live in burrows in mountains and in grassland areas. You can learn about guinea pigs or get a picture of a bird from a pet website.
