There are several types of coat of these animals. Short haired animals have smooth and short hair. Abyssinians' coat is short with prominent whorls in it. Rex Type coat is short and coarse; it lifts from the body and the whiskers are curled. Sheltie type of coat is when the fur is smooth and long. Peruvian is a long haired Abyssinian; the coat is parted down the centre of the back, with the hair falling forward over the face. If you want to have this animal as a pet, a creature with short hair will be fine.
