Guinea Pig Health
The guinea pig health of babies is something that breeders of these creatures are concerned about.
The weaker males submit and are driven from the herd into a new location with a single female. In captivity the loser may die of starvation and exhaustion, because the dominant male drives it from water, food, and sleeping spots. So it’s important to separate sexually mature animals. Two males can peacefully live together if they are neutered and never in contact with females. As for females, they also fight for rank, but do not drive the weaker from the herd.

Guinea Pig Health -
babies, breeders
The most common problems connecting with these rodents are hair loss and teeth problems. Cavies may have mites and lice and in order to prevent this unpleasant problem, brush the animal frequently and checki his coat. Attend your vet to check the animal’s coat under the microscope for parasites. If these parasites are present, your vet will treat them accordingly. When the animal stops eating, more evidently, it has problems with teeth. It is also necessary to visit a vet for teeth examination. Your animal’s teeth may also not wear evenly, but grow points that dig into the cavy’s cheeks and gums which make eating very painful.
